The personal and professional network, a pillar of mental health

At a time when demands and expectations of performance are constantly increasing, both personally and professionally, what if we took the time to consider our network as a real pillar of mental health?

    Some key recruiter figures:

To take the measure of what’s at stake:

    • According to a LinkedIn study in 2024, 85% of professional opportunities materialise thanks to the network, well beyond simple online applications,
    • 72% of managers believe that the quality of their professional relationships has a direct impact on their motivation and commitment at work (Malakoff Humanis 2024 Barometer),
    • a well-connected employee is 2.4 times less likely to leave his or her job in the year following recruitment (Deloitte study, 2023),
    • conversely, 1 in 3 new hires fails within the first 18 months, mainly due to a lack of integration or a lack of trusting relationships within the team (Harvard Business Review, 2024).

    Experts, managers, entrepreneurs…

Every day, we support talented men and women in their search for the right ‘match’: a team to build, a meaningful project, or an environment in which to flourish… And every day, they remind us of the extent to which the quality of human relations – listening, trust, mutual support – is a determining factor, not only for successful recruitment, but above all for personal mental balance, the effects of which generate a virtuous circle of success, right through to retaining talent. ⚖

In the latest episode of 𝗖𝗔𝗥𝗘, Benjamin Le Botland had the pleasure of talking to Claire Garin about this often underestimated pillar: our entourage. With the usual reservations. We share the key lessons with you!

    💡 WHAT WE’VE LEARNT:

✅ Cultivate our relationships: colleagues, mentors, partners, friends are essential to our mental well-being and the success of our career paths.
✅ Diversify our sources of support: be careful not to put all our mental health on the shoulders of our nearest and dearest, or on a single point of contact in the company.
✅ Get support from a professional: a coach, a shrink, a mentor… This external support helps you to take a step back, break repetitive patterns and speed up your progress.

    🚀 WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Have you already called on a professional to support your development, or relied on your network to turn a corner? What benefits have you gained? Share your experience: your testimonial may inspire other talents to take the plunge!
